Join the Crew

Minecraft experience is useful for some roles, but you don’t need to be an expert to contribute. We start with your interests, skills, availability, and comfort.

Event
Host

Help with Connection Hour, monthly activities, or seasonal festivals. Co-host a gathering, coordinate the details, or make sure everyone finds their way.

Build Your Role

We’ll explore the overlap between our current needs and your interests. We'll find the tasks and projects that not only help Second Haven but feed your heart and soul. We'll also discuss what supports you might need.

Meet Our Community

We’ll introduce the community, expectations and norms, and our community builders team. Roles involving facilitation or moderation may need additional preparation.

Do I need to know how to play Minecraft?

Not for every role. Writing, communications, evaluation, and many other contributions happen outside the game. If a role involves Minecraft, we can talk about what you’d need to learn.

What if my energy or availability changes?

Tell us what works for you. We understand fluctuating health and energy. Some roles suit occasional or asynchronous contributions; scheduled hosting and guiding need agreed availability.

Can I volunteer from home?

Yes. Second Haven is a virtual community. The setup you’ll need depends on the role, so let us know what devices and experience you have when you get in touch.

What do you expect from volunteers?
