The festival story

How it went

Shared play Creative contribution Time together

The festival brought players together around a growing waterfront of rides, games, and creative builds. Groups lined up in boats, explored a pirate-themed ride, visited the roller coaster, and played together on a shifting field of leaves.

The later sandcastle footage, recorded in August 2026, shows how much the beach display had grown. Alongside the faster games, the boardwalk and building areas offered places to wander, look at one another’s work, and spend time together.

Activities & connection

More than an activity.

How these activities create opportunities for connection, creativity, and participation.

Boat races

A common route and a shared start gave players something to do together right away. Joining a race can make a first interaction easier: the activity supplies the starting point.

Cooperative and playful challenges

Dripleaf games and capture the flag created opportunities to react to one another, coordinate, and share a playful moment. Familiar faces become part of the game itself.

Sandcastles and community builds

Building offers a different pace of participation. A person can contribute an idea, work on a small detail, or explore what others have made, with something tangible to share afterward.

A boardwalk to explore

Shops, rides, and places to sit gave players reasons to linger between activities. Shared surroundings can offer an easy conversation topic when starting a conversation feels difficult.
