Pumpkins with personality
Making a pumpkin gave players a way to express an idea and add it to a shared display. Looking at different creations also offers a natural reason to notice and appreciate one another’s work.
Creativity and cozy company

The fun starts before festival day. Pumpkin carving begins the week before October 24. These are the activities planned so far.
The festival story
Our first Fall Fest took place in 2025 just one month after the launch of Second Haven. The event included a corn maze, bumper boats, a dunk tank, haybale parkour, the Minecart Shooter game, and a pumpkin carving contest. Our numbers were small, but the fun was big!
Since then, our Fall Fest region has grown to include a roller coaster, massive spider escape room, costume shop, haunted house murder mystery, and river boat tour. Players get creative mode permissions to add their own rides, shops, or fall decor.

Activities & connection
How these activities create opportunities for connection, creativity, and participation.

A maze or a small challenge gives people a shared point of attention. Trying a route, asking for help, or watching someone else have a go can all become ways into an interaction.
The campfire and food stand made room for the quieter parts of a festival. Being alongside other people can be a meaningful form of participation, even without joining every activity.
Members were invited to add their own builds around the festival area. Contributing something to a shared world creates a visible way to take part in community life.
