How it went

Self-expression Playful discovery A place to gather

Fall Fest grew into a place to explore, make something, and spend time with other players. The activity invitation included pumpkin carving, a corn maze, hay-bale parkour, Minecart Shooter, and bumper boats, with a food stand to visit along the way.

The pictures capture both the builds and the gathering around them: carved pumpkins, autumn decorations, and players together by the fire. WiseOldQuokka’s giant dancing pumpkin added a particularly playful example of what a community member could contribute.

Pumpkins with personality

Making a pumpkin gave players a way to express an idea and add it to a shared display. Looking at different creations also offers a natural reason to notice and appreciate one another’s work.

Mazes and minigames

A maze or a small challenge gives people a shared point of attention. Trying a route, asking for help, or watching someone else have a go can all become ways into an interaction.

Campfires and gathering places

The campfire and food stand made room for the quieter parts of a festival. Being alongside other people can be a meaningful form of participation, even without joining every activity.

Room for member ideas

Members were invited to add their own builds around the festival area. Contributing something to a shared world creates a visible way to take part in community life.
