Images, fonts, and locally hosted festival videos are served as part of the site. Videos play when you choose to start them. A hosting provider may process routine connection information, such as IP addresses and page requests, to deliver the website.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website and to improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, browser and device details, and approximate location. Information about your use of this website is sent to Google for processing.

YouTube videos

Some festival videos are hosted on YouTube. Their players load only when you choose Play; until then, the preview image is served by this website. Starting a YouTube video connects your browser to YouTube, which processes information under Google’s privacy policy. You can also follow the link beneath a video to watch it directly on YouTube.

Using the contact form

When direct sending is available, choosing ?Send message? submits your name, email address, organization if supplied, topic, and message to Web3Forms for delivery to Second Haven. We use that information to respond to your inquiry.

Web3Forms processes form submissions and related technical information under its own privacy policy, including its practices for security, spam prevention, and retention. This website does not keep a separate database of form submissions.

Requesting Minecraft whitelist access

When you submit a whitelist request, your email address and Minecraft username are sent through Web3Forms to Second Haven. We use them to review your request, reply about joining, and add approved players to the server's whitelist. Submitting a request does not automatically grant access.

Applying to volunteer

Volunteer applications are sent through Web3Forms to Second Haven. They include your contact details, role interests, Discord and Minecraft experience, activity preferences, availability, and any optional answers you provide. We use this information to review your interest and follow up about volunteering. If you request whitelist access, we also use your Minecraft username and edition, if provided, to review that request. Applying does not automatically confirm a volunteer role or grant server access.

Phone numbers, personal background, and communication or access preferences are optional. Share only what you are comfortable sharing; medical history and diagnoses are not needed. The application is not saved in this browser’s local storage.

Signing up for the Rosetta Quest

When you submit a Rosetta Quest signup, your name, email address, and Minecraft username if supplied are sent through Web3Forms to Second Haven. We use these details to follow up about joining a group and arranging a schedule. Submitting the form does not automatically confirm a group or session time.

Preparing an email yourself

The email-draft option prepares a message in your browser. Choosing that option does not send the message to Second Haven or store it in browser storage. You can review the draft, copy it, or choose to open it in your email app.

The draft is sent only when you send it through your email service. The handling of your draft and sent email by that service is subject to its own privacy practices.

Information you send us

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry and discuss the relevant opportunity or request. Please do not include payment details or sensitive health information in a general inquiry.

Links to other services

Some links take you to the Second Haven player website, research publishers, or other services. Those services have their own privacy practices. Participation in Minecraft and Discord is separate from browsing this nonprofit website.

The privacy of participants matters beyond this website. Please see our community care page and the player website’s community norms and rules for expectations around boundaries and sharing others’ conversations.
