Our DnD groups are part of our community’s own creativity. Members come together to play, shape their adventures, and make a story that belongs to the group.
Tabletop gaming at Second Haven
A roll of the dice. An unexpected idea. A story you make together. Tabletop games give us another way to share virtual spaces and build real connections.
From board games to Dungeons & Dragons (DnD), there is room for curiosity, creativity, and new friends.
Dungeons & Dragons
DnD is a tabletop role-playing game where you create a character and explore an imaginary world together. You describe what you want to do, make choices as a group, and roll dice when the outcome is uncertain.
At Second Haven, our new DnD groups are player led, with one member volunteering as Dungeon Master. The adventure grows through everyone’s ideas.
Our DnD groups are part of our community’s own creativity. Members come together to play, shape their adventures, and make a story that belongs to the group.
The Dungeon Master, often called the DM, describes the world, play the people and creatures you meet, and help guide the story and the rules.
Players each bring a character to the adventure. Ask a question, try an unexpected idea, help a companion, or solve a puzzle together. You don’t need to arrive knowing every rule.
Imagine your party reaching a mysterious door. No one person has to have all the answers.
New to role-playing? Let your group know. Questions and learning together are part of getting started. Our community care commitments belong at the table, too.
More ways to be together
Tabletop games using Tabletopia, Tabletop Simulator, and DnD platforms give us another way to share virtual spaces and connect.
A shared board or map gives us somewhere to gather. Taking turns, planning a move, and laughing at a surprising roll give us something to talk about.
A virtual space for board games, with a shared table and game pieces to move together. It brings the familiar feeling of gathering around a board into an online space.
A digital tabletop for playing with boards, cards, dice, and other game pieces. It offers another shared space for trying games and spending time with fellow members.
Tools such as D&D Beyond and Roll20 can support online adventures with character sheets, dice, and shared maps. We also use dedicated channels in our Discord for DnD with specialized bots for rolling die.
Before setting anything up, check with your group about the game, platform, accounts, and any costs involved.
Come as you are
All new members are welcome to participate in our DnD groups. Whether you are curious about your first character or would like to volunteer as a Dungeon Master, start a conversation with us.
Join our Discord or contact us and mention tabletop gaming or DnD. Tell us what you’re interested in trying.
Ask about current groups, session times, and the platform they use. Let them know if you are new to the game or interested in being a DM.
Check what you need for your first session and talk about any questions, access needs, or preferences. Bring your curiosity and an openness to other people’s ideas.
